    Driver Qualifications 

    ·      1 year over the road experience, doubles & triples endorsement

    ·      Minimum 22 years of age

    ·      Must have a safe driving record with no more than three moving   violations in past three years

    ·      Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

    ·      Must be able to read, speak and write the English language, in accordance with DOT regulations

    ·      Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug/substance & alcohol testing

    ·      Must be able to pass DOT road test

    ·      Must be able to maintain driver logs according to ICC regulation  

       

    NOW HIRING IN BENSON/CURTISS: TRACTOR-TRAILER MECHANIC (FT)

    SUMMARY

    Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul trucks, buses, and all types of diesel and non-diesel engines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
    • Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions
    • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
    • Raise trucks, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
    • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
    • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Post-secondary Certificate, and/or a minimum of four (4) years of experience, or a combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete company, Federal and State forms. Ability to communicate information in verbal and written form, as well as the ability to listen to, and understand information conveyed verbally or in writing.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form. Ability to apply general rules to specific problems. 

    CERTICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

    Must maintain a current driver license. Ability to maintain work area in compliance with local, State, and Federal OHSA rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those the physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, an employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, speak, hear, see, or smell.     WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.     Hiring Process

    ORIENTATION
    All new drivers participate in a five day training period. Each new driver is assigned to an experienced trainer. Because of the versatility of our hauls and equipment you may train with a different trainer each day.

    HOME TIME
    Although each terminal’s business differs, the average number of days away from home is 1 to 3 days, ratio would be 75% of what CTI does you will be home that night other 25% out

    WORK HOURS
    CTI operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. All drivers are on call and must be available unless other arrangements have been made in advance for time off. CTI cannot offer an 8 to 5 driving position nor can they guarantee what time you will be home. Our business is based on supply and demand and we pride ourselves on providing punctual service to our customers.

    EQUIPMENT
    CTI is continually upgrading their equipment using the newest technology with fuel-efficient tractors, computerized engines and lighter weight equipment to provide greater hauling capacity. As our older equipment is being retired it is being replaced with Peterbilts and Kenworths that have 10-speed transmission, jake brakes, air conditioning, air ride cabs, radios, cruise control and power steering.

    PAYCHECKS
    Paychecks are issued every Thursday*. Our Rillito terminal office must receive paperwork by Tuesday morning to be included in that week’s paycheck.

    PAYROLL DIRECT DEPOSIT for all employees.
    *Note: When there is a holiday it will delay the issuance of payroll checks one day.

    RIDER POLICY
    CTI does not offer a rider program. No passengers are allowed in a Company vehicle without authorization from the Safety Department.
